Update: ALL SCHOOLS CLOSED MONDAY MARCH 16 until APRIL 6.
Dear HCS Families,
Given cases of Coronavirus in Alabama, Gov. Kay Ivey announced K-12 public schools will close effective end of the academic day, Wednesday, March 18. The call to delay closing until Wednesday was likely made to ensure parents can secure child care. Many parents do not need this extra time, and many of you are concerned about returning to school this upcoming week.
While school will be open Monday-Wednesday, March 16-18, any student absences will be excused. This allows you to make the best decision for your child without the penalty of an attendance issue. Faculty and staff will be present at their campuses Monday-Wednesday to support the education of your children if you choose to attend.
Thank you for your patience through this ever-changing and difficult time. Best to you and your family.
