ANNUAL SCIENCE FAIR
Attention parents: Do you have an occupation, business, or work for company in the Science related field? Would your company be willing to donate items to go in “swag bags” for students participating in our Annual Science Fair in March? We would be thrilled to have items such as pencils, stress balls, toothbrushes, coupons, gift certificates, erasers, stickers, plastic bags or any small favors to be placed in bags for participants! We are hoping to have 200-300 students participating but will take any quantity and all donations. We would also love any items to be used for the prize winners such as gift cards to local merchants: restaurants, ice cream, play places, just about anything!!!! Please send in items to the attention of Jonathan Daughtry, Amanda Millhouse, Leigh Ann Roe or Carol Lollar. Thank you in advance for your continued support of Bumpus Middle School!!!!!!

Scoliosis Screening Information
The Alabama State Department of Education and the Alabama Department of Public Health require that school districts in Alabama offer and provide scoliosis screening for male and female students in grades 5 through 9.
Screening is performed by observing the uncovered spine, viewing the student from the back, side and from and also with the student bending forward. If a spinal problem in suspected, the child will be rechecked at a second screening. Parents of any student found to have signs of possible spinal abnormality will be asked to see their own physicians for further evaluation.
On February 19th girls and boys will be screened separately to ensure privacy. They can wear gym clothes, bathing suits or other clothing that may be removed easily. Screening for your child will take place within the next two weeks. If your child is currently under treatment for a spinal deformity, please let us know and your child will be exempt from the screening process.
Please complete the consent form below indicating your wishes for screening. Hard copies are also available in the health room.

Football Players...
Message from Coach Watson:
Parents, if your player was planning on attending the football camp at Hoover High this Saturday, the camp will only be for current 7th and 8th graders. Current 6th graders cannot attend. Sorry for the confusion.
