Tips for parents and students for INOW:

Blank: teacher has not graded and is not included in grade average. Does not hurt grade if there is a blank

.01: student was absent and assignment needs to be made up as soon as possible. Student’s responsibility to ask teacher for assignment

0 (zero); student did not turn in work or did not do assignment. Zeros cannot be made up. Parents first point of contact for a zero is the student. They generally know why they received a zero even though they act like they don’t know why they received a zero!

Also many times if there is a code like a .01 or a zero or a low grade there will be a teacher comment. Reading the comments are a good way to help both the parent and the student solve the case!
