#ColorRun General Info: STUDENTS MUST READ!

2019 COLOR Run General Info

● Students can wear running/athletic attire based on guidelines for the Color Run Dress
code.
● Check-outs will be difficult so if you know your parents are going to check you out on Friday,
parents should check students out prior to the run....before 1pm.
● Students will NOT bring backpacks or chromebooks to school on the day of the Color Run.
We have waters for our team so students do NOT bring water bottles.  Due to the potential
of the color (cornstarch), water getting into a cell phone and potential for damage
from a drop is too high we have asked our students to not bring CELL PHONES.
NO Cell phones will be allowed to be used at any point during the day so it is best to leave
them at home.
● There will be ONE restroom available during the Color Run. Students/staff needing to use
the restroom will enter and exit the doors by the cafeteria.  Our team will have a
restroom stop BEFORE the Color Run to avoid having to come back inside
● Teachers will have a map of the Color Run route. Non-participants will be stationed along
the route to cheer on participants. The only exception are students that cannot participate
due to medical reasons - these students will remain in the media center. Our team is at 100%
participation for those who will be in attendance on Color Run day!  Way to go Team 6-1!
● We will have 2 nurses on duty during the Color Run.
● Color packets cannot be opened inside of the building before going outside.
● All color packets must be used.
Do not forcefully throw powder at people's faces or on people who do not have on a Color
Run or plain white t-shirt....it means they chose NOT to participate.
It’s NOT a RACE....it’s a run or walk but keep it moving.
Do NOT stop at color stations....keep it moving.
● If you don’t want color then run/walk around that color station.
● After the run, stay in the designated student area on the assigned fields with your grade level/team.
EVERYONE will need to pick up trash before we leave.
If you ride carpool, you may want to have your parents cover their car seats.

#FridayNews

***We are so close to being 100% for the ColorRun on our team!  Remember the due date is Monday!! (09/16!)  This is a day filled with such great team activities!  We celebrate more than just the Color Run!  Our students will be involved in great team building games with our TEAM 6-1!  Here are some examples from past years:  hula hoop contests, kickball tournament, popsicles, character lesson with sidewalk chalk, Simon says games, and so much more!!!

***Just a hint and we are sharing our secret with you:  Dawn Liquid Detergent gets the color off of your skin.  Go ahead and get your bottle now before the stores in Hoover run low!  It's the thing we found that works the best!

***School pictures will be during PE times on September 18th!

***Progress Reports went home on Thursday, September 12th.  Please ask your child for theirs.  Sign one copy and return asap!  Remember INOW is a working gradebook and is LIVE so grades can change at any time.  Please make sure you check your child's grades at least once or twice a week!

***Our students are settling in and we are very positive and excited for a great year! We want to make sure the "settling in" doesn't get "too settling!" You may want to glance at your child's agenda.  If they have highlighted blue marks, this indicates they had a blank and did not write down what they should have for that day and are relying on the online agenda.  This means they are not doing what they should when walking into the classroom.  We spoke about this and have seen a change in preparedness and attitude for the better!  Students feel better and so do we!  We are all in this together.

***Have a great weekend!
